A company founded by a family from a rural setting, producing mats and rugs since 1998 in Perris. Focusing on a small area in the home decor industry. Aim to deliver a unique fusion of home and nature.
In 1950s, the founder’s mother was a tailor with a creative spark rooted in San Francisco. She had a profound love for crafting handmade rugs for their home, meticulously drawing unique patterns that transformed the space with each season.
The founder, deeply captivated by both her mother’s creative spirit and the region’s sun-drenched valleys and windswept deserts, resolved to weave nature’s energy into the warmth of cozy home interiors.
In 2013, LUMI opened its first flagship physical store, pouring all its brand philosophy and unwavering dedication to mats & rugs into this landmark space. This milestone also served as a catalyst for the founder to connect with the visionary behind DAJIANG, the Asia’s largest rug and mat manufacturer. Together, they embarked on a collaborative journey of technological iteration, relentlessly refining and innovating manufacturing techniques to push the boundaries of craftsmanship in the industry.
LUMI made its elegant foray into online sales in 2023 and embarked on global sourcing initiatives. Today, the company boasts a workforce of over a hundred, complemented by its own dedicated material laboratory. By harmoniously blending vintage aesthetics, modern science, and state-of-the-art global technologies, it aspires to establish a global rug brand, and to more exquisitely spread the philosophy of integrating nature with home.
